Weekly Update from Principal Wheeler, 5/15/2023

Good Evening Lafayette Families,   

I apologize for the late email this week, I was away at my son’s baseball tournament and didn’t get back in time last night.  SOL testing is done for the majority of students. We just have retakes and makeup tests. If you were contacted by your child’s teacher about a retake opportunity or making up an SOL you missed, please make sure they are prepared and arrive on time to school on your assigned day.

Reminder for parents to pick up any unused medications from the school nurse by the last day of school. Medications that are not picked up must be destroyed per school policy. If your child is staying for a summer program, you must inform the school nurse, so their medication is not inadvertently destroyed.

Field Day Sign-up is live! Monday, May 22nd we will hold our field day. There is a morning shift for grades K-2 and an afternoon shift for grades 3-5. Help us make the day fun & memorable for all!

May 23rd –  5th Grade Moving Up ceremony at 4:30 pm at Lafayette Elementary

May 23rd to May 26th – Early Dismissal Days (school ends at 12:45 PM each day) 

May 26th – LAST DAY OF SCHOOL
