Virginia law requires certain students be vaccinated before attending school

As we prepare for the upcoming school year, we want to remind families that Virginia law requires certain immunizations for students entering kindergarten, 7th grade, and 12th grade.

Routine immunizations are one of the best ways to keep children healthy, prevent illness from spreading in schools, and support uninterrupted learning throughout the year.

If your child is due for required immunizations, now is a great time to schedule an appointment. All children are entitled to receive these immunizations, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay.

Families can schedule FREE school immunizations by calling the Fredericksburg Department of Health at (540) 899-4142. The Health Department is located at 1320 Central Park Boulevard.

Thank you for helping us keep all students safe, healthy, and ready to learn.
