Principal Wheeler's Weekly Update

Good Evening Lafayette Families,

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and enjoyed the beautiful weather. As we gear up for another productive week ahead, I'd like to share some important updates and reminders with you.

Have you noticed the Attendance Star flag waving proudly by the front doors of the school? If not, be sure to look for it tomorrow! We are thrilled to be recognized for our excellent attendance. I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all families for working with us to instill the importance of regular school attendance in our students. Your efforts are truly appreciated. Please remember that when unforeseen circumstances arise and your child cannot attend school, prompt communication with us is greatly appreciated. This allows us to support your child and ensure minimal disruption to their learning.

A friendly reminder that Wednesday, February 7th, is an Early Dismissal Day for students. Transportation change forms were sent home in Friday folders last week. Please ensure that all necessary changes are communicated to us before Wednesday.

Interim reports will be sent home this week on Thursday, February 8th. I encourage you to review them with your student and reach out to their teacher with any questions or concerns you may have.

The Carnation sale, organized by the James Monroe High School National Honor Society, will begin this week, running from Monday, February 5th, through Friday, February 9th. Carnations will be sold during morning arrival this week at a cost of $3 each or 2 for $5. Flowers will be delivered on Wednesday, February 14th.

The Lafayette PTA candy gram sale also kicks off this week, starting on Thursday, February 8th, and running through Monday, February 12th. Candy grams may be purchased with either cash or check (payable to LES PTA) and cost $1.00 each. Please ensure that students know the first and last name of the person they are sending the candy gram to, as this will help with the delivery process.

Thank you for taking the time to stay informed and involved in our school community. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.

Wishing you all a fantastic week ahead!

Warm regards,

Mrs. Wheeler
