Good Afternoon Lafayette Families,
I hope this message finds you well and that you had a restful day off enjoying the beautiful weather. As we gear up for another week of learning and growth at Lafayette, I wanted to share some important reminders and updates with you.
First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude to all our families for prioritizing attendance and ensuring that your student is present and on time each day. Your commitment to communication when absences occur is truly commendable and plays a crucial role in your student's success.
I invite you to join us for our upcoming PTA meeting on Wednesday night at 6:30 pm in the Lafayette Library. For those unable to attend in person, a Zoom link will be provided for virtual participation.
Students, don't forget to submit your Black History Month trivia forms this week! Winners will be announced, and special treats awarded to those who answer correctly. Trivia questions are announced during morning announcements, and forms are available throughout the school.
Attention students in grades 2-5: Next week, you will be taking your Reading and Math Q3 monitoring assessments. We encourage you to put forth your best effort, and remember, even small improvements count! In fact, if you improve by just one percentage point from the last monitoring assessment, you will earn a piece of duct tape.
Yes, you read that correctly! Duct tape will be used to tape myself, Mrs. Diggs, and Mr. Lewis to the wall as a fun incentive for your hard work. We want every student to have the opportunity to participate, so make sure to give it your all. You can look forward to watching us get taped to the wall on Zoom after Spring Break!
Let's keep the momentum going as we continue on our learning journey. Your dedication and partnership are invaluable, and we are grateful for your ongoing support. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out.
Thank you, and have a wonderful week ahead!
Mrs. Wheeler
