Principal Wheeler's Weekly Update

Good Evening Lafayette Families,

Just a quick reminder of the importance of attendance and arriving on time to school. Your child's consistent attendance and punctuality are vital for their success. If there are any challenges, please communicate with us. Your involvement makes all the difference, and we truly appreciate it. https://lues.fxbgschools.us/o/les/page/attendance-notes-lafayette

February 28 will be an early dismissal day. On Wednesday, students will dismiss at 12:45pm—please make sure to submit any transportations changes prior to dismissal on Wednesday. Because of the early dismissal, after-school clubs will not be held on Wednesday, February 28.

A reminder that this week, students in grades 2-5 will be tackling their Reading Q3 monitoring assessments and Math Q3 monitoring assessments starting from March 4. We're counting on you to give it your all! Remember, even small improvements matter! In fact, if you manage to boost your score by just one percentage point or more from the last monitoring assessment, you'll earn yourself a piece of duct tape. And here's the fun part: after Spring Break, you'll get the chance to duct tape myself, Mrs. Diggs, and Mr. Lewis to the wall!  Keep up the great work, and let's aim for those improvements!

Starting next week and throughout March and April, Lafayette will be celebrating the joy of reading with various activities. We kick off on March 4th with Read Across America. Stay tuned for details in my weekly messages, on the school website, and through our social media. Let's spread the joy of reading together!

Looking ahead to the week, we're excited for another productive and positive week. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out. Your partnership is crucial, and by working together, we ensure the success of every Lafayette student.

Enjoy your evening, and here's to a fantastic week ahead!

Mrs. Wheeler
