Good Evening Lafayette Families,
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and enjoyed the beautiful weather today.
I want to remind you that this week will be a short one for our students, as they will begin their well-deserved Spring Break on Friday, March 8. Schools will be closed for the entirety of the following week, from March 11 to March 15. Additionally, March 8 marks the end of the 3rd nine weeks grading period. It's hard to believe that we're already approaching the final stretch before summer break!
In the spirit of celebration, our Student Council Association (SCA) has organized their first Spirit Week. Here's what they have planned:
- Monday, March 4: Crazy Hair Day — Let your imagination run wild!
- Tuesday, March 5: Mix Match Day — Show off your creativity by mixing and matching your attire from head to toe!
- Wednesday, March 6: Sports Day — Represent your favorite sports team with pride!
- Thursday, March 7: Role Reversal Day — Students, dress like your teachers, and teachers, dress like your students! Let's have some fun with it!
But that's not all! This week also marks the beginning of Read Across America Week. Each grade level has a map of the United States displayed in the hallway by the library, where they will track their "travels" across the U.S. as they engage in read-alouds during class. Be sure to keep an eye out for daily updates on our social media channels.
As always, your ongoing support is greatly appreciated. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
Wishing you all a fantastic week ahead!
Warm regards,
Mrs. Wheeler
