Principal Wheeler's Weekly Update, 03/24/24

Good Evening Lafayette Families,

Tomorrow, Monday, April 22, we invite you to join us at 5pm for our Earth Day LES Campus Cleanup. We'll be focusing on school beautification, tidying up the sunshine garden, and painting rocks in the courtyard. Please bring any trash pick-up or gardening supplies you have! Remember, all students must be accompanied by an adult at this event. We're excited to see you there!

This week marks the beginning of SOL testing on Tuesday, April 23, starting at 8:45am. Here's the breakdown by grade:

  • Grade 3: Reading

  • Grade 4: Virginia Studies

  • Grade 5: Science

To help ensure your student is prepared for testing day, we kindly request your assistance with a few key points:

  1. Ensure they get a good night's sleep the night before

  2. Please ensure they arrive at school on time

  3. Remind them to eat breakfast, either at home or at school (we provide free breakfast for everyone)

  4. Encourage them to put forth their best effort

We're incredibly proud of our students and their hard work and appreciate your support.

As we approach May and the end of the school year, regular attendance remains crucial. Every day of school contributes to preparing our students for the next year. Please continue to communicate any absences using our Attendance Notes form.

We're looking forward to another fantastic week and appreciate your ongoing support. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.

Warm regards,

Mrs. Wheeler
