Principal Wheeler's Weekly Update

Good Evening Lafayette Families,

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and were able to enjoy some quality time together despite the rainy weather. As we approach the final stretch of the school year, I wanted to share some important updates and reminders with you.

This week, our 4th and 5th grade students will be taking their Math SOL tests on Tuesday, May 7, at 8:45am. Make-up tests and SOL retakes will continue over the next two weeks. If your student qualifies for a retake, their teacher will reach out to you if they haven't already done so.

Additionally, our K-2 students will begin their end-of-year PALS assessment this week. We appreciate your continued support during testing and ask that you encourage the following:

  1. Ensure they get a good night's sleep the night before

  2. Please ensure they arrive at school on time

  3. Remind them to eat breakfast, either at home or at school (we provide free breakfast for everyone)

  4. Encourage them to put forth their best effort
