Principal Wheeler's Weekly Update

Good evening, Lafayette Families,

I hope everyone enjoyed the four-day weekend and is ready for our four-day week ahead.

This week, our Kindergarten students will begin their Virginia Kindergarten Readiness Program (VKRP) assessment. Please ensure your child is present and on time so our teachers can complete testing within the scheduled window.

September is Attendance Awareness Month, and we want to highlight the importance of regular attendance. Consistent attendance is key to academic success, but we also understand that illness and unforeseen circumstances can occur. If your child is sick or there's an emergency, please keep us informed by submitting notes online: Attendance Notes | Lafayette Elementary School (fxbgschools.us)

If your student is missing a jacket, lunch box, or hoodie, please stop by and check our lost and found — items are already starting to accumulate.

Upcoming Dates

  • Sept 9: Interim Reports sent home in student folders

  • Sept 9: School Board Meeting 7:30pm

  • Sept 16: Fall Fling Fun Run
