Good evening, Lafayette Families,
I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend and is ready to push through these last two weeks before Winter Break! As we approach this special time of year, I want to share some important news with you.
These will be my final two weeks as principal of Lafayette Elementary School. Serving as your principal has been an incredible honor and privilege, and I am deeply grateful for the support, partnership, and collaboration we’ve shared.
I am excited to announce that Mrs. Jacinta Calzada-Mayronne will step in as your new principal. She will officially begin her role when students return from Winter Break on January 7. To learn more about Mrs. Calzada-Mayronne, please click here.
While I am sad to step away from Lafayette, I am also excited to focus on an exciting new opportunity: preparing for the opening of Fredericksburg City’s newest elementary school, Gladys West Elementary School, in the 2025-2026 school year. I look forward to collaborating with Mrs. Calzada-Mayronne during this transition and am confident Lafayette will continue to thrive under her leadership.
