Summer may be heating up, but our students are still keeping cool with killer instincts!
Back in March, Latin classes marked the Ides of March with an unforgettable twist-solving the murder of Julius Caesar! Students became detectives, investigating the ancient crime scene by analyzing evidence, interviewing “witnesses,” and uncovering motives behind one of history’s most infamous assassinations.
Et tu, Brute? Well... not exactly, as our students discovered!
As we dive into summer events this June, don’t forget that history has its mysteries, and our students are ready to solve them. Stay tuned for more classics-inspired fun!

Our talented Yellow Jackets didn’t just string us along this year; they played their hearts out and took First Place with a Superior Rating this May!
Now they’re heading into summer break with medals around their necks and music in their souls. Whether it’s beach vibes or backyard jam sessions, we know their summer will be in perfect harmony.
Bravo, JM Orchestra you’ve officially set the tone for an unbeatable summer! #JM #Orchestra #medals #SummerInSuperiorStyle #StrikeUpTheBand #Fredericksburg

No pizza, no pasta, no problem—just in time for summer foodies!
As we head further into the summer and fire up our grills, Latin students are looking back on some truly old-school eats. Earlier this spring, they uncovered the truth behind Ancient Roman dining—and spoiler alert: there was no spaghetti, no marinara, and definitely no pepperoni pizza.
Instead, students explored how Romans made do without ingredients like tomatoes, chocolate, or even regular access to meat. They embraced the challenge, showing off their culinary skills by baking egg dishes, breads, and tarts flavored with poppyseed, bay leaf, pepper, and sweetened with honey—when they were lucky!
So while you're enjoying summer snacks, remember: Cenavimus bene! We dined well!
