Last Friday, our Class of 2025 continued a proud JM tradition, the Ceili Leahy Senior Day of Service! Inspired by Ceili’s legacy of activism, generosity, and deep love for community, our seniors dedicated their time and energy to giving back. Ceili was a writer, a humanitarian, and a passionate advocate for justice, a true force for good in the world. Whether leading human rights protests, volunteering at Children’s National Hospital, or simply spreading kindness, she believed in living life vividly and inspiring others to do the same. Even in the face of cancer, she remained unwavering in her commitment to service and community. Since 2016, the Ceili Leahy Service Project (CLSP) has sparked a spirit of volunteerism at JM, encouraging students to make a difference. A heartfelt thank you to our students, staff, and community partners for making this year’s event a success! Ceili remains our guiding light, reminding us why service matters. Her words continue to inspire: "As terrible as cancer is, it really opened my eyes to the goodness in people. It was just the most beautiful thing to see what people can do for each other when they’re inspired." – Ceili Leahy, JM Class of 2014 #CeiliLeahyDayofService #JM #GivingBack #Classof2025 #LiveVividly #Community #Passionate #Fredericksburg #Students

Happy School Librarian Day! Today, we celebrate our amazing librarians and the incredible work they do to foster a love of reading in our students! Ms. Cobey is currently reading Raising Hare: A Memoir by Chloe Dalton. This unique story explores the life of a busy politician who rescues and befriends a baby hare found near her home. Ms. Cobey, an avid reader and nature lover, is especially enjoying the book’s deep dive into the world of hares. When she’s not reading, you can often find her exploring the outdoors with her dog, Joey! Be sure to thank Ms. Cobey for all she does to make our library a welcoming and inspiring space!

She goes above and beyond for the students at JM, both those on her caseload and beyond making a lasting difference every day. This year’s ceremony was extra special, taking place right here at JM, with Mrs. Young looking absolutely stunning!
