Good afternoon,
As always, thank you for your continued support, cooperation, and collaboration as we work together for the health, safety, and instructional needs of our Fredericksburg City Public Schools community.
As promised, we want to follow up on last night's message in order to keep you informed.
As you know, there are local, state, and national rumors for a Friday, September 13 event. Today, we have received no additional information, no evidence, and no proof of any violence to our schools. Out of an abundance of caution, increased police presence will continue.
We thank families who have advised their students against spreading rumors, particularly those that could cause undue fear in our community.
If you have credible information concerning a threat to our schools, contact a school administrator or school employee. As with any emergency, please contact 911 if your information gives rise to that level.
We want to reiterate that safety and security are our top priorities and always will be.
Thank you.

Last week, Mr. Mason's math class took their education outdoors, embracing the perks of alternative learning! Learning doesn’t always have to happen within four walls. Fresh air, hands-on experiences, and a boost in creativity—these are just a few perks of alternative learning. We are loving this dynamic approach!

Mrs. Brindley, Ms. Morrison, and Mr. Hine tested water quality with their students last week to unearth the cause of a mysterious (but imaginary) fish kill in the Rappahannock River. They are learning how to keep our river clean and safe for recreation and drinking water! This is the first part of our Meaningful Watershed Education Unit, which will end with a field trip to the Rappahannock River for the day!

One of our talented students created this beautiful piece of artwork for our Student Support Specialist, Dr. Harris. This artwork reflects the deep appreciation and connection that Dr. Harris has fostered within our school community.
Thank you, Dr. Harris, for your unwavering support and care! We love seeing the artwork and creativity of our students!

Last Wednesday, August 28, Fredericksburg City Public Schools held the 9th Superintendent Community Roundtable, and it was all about career and technical education (CTE) and building strong connections with our community and local businesses. Participants got a firsthand look at the exciting CTE programs from current JM students and then jumped into a lively discussion on how FCPS can keep making these opportunities even better for our students.

If you or someone you know is in crisis, call/text 988 or visit 988lifeline.org for free and confidential help.
